Hsiung Creative was brought on to introduce DJ Steve Aoki’s luxury streetwear line DIM MAK COLLECTION, which was only available in Japan at the time, to the US market. Utilizing her 360° knowledge of fashion and business, we managed all aspects of the brand - strategy, design, marketing, sales and logistics. The brand garnered press from Vogue and High Snobiety.
THE CHALLENGE
Aoki, an expert on music production and master entertainer wanted to make an impact on the fashion industry. He had passion and novel ideas that needed help with refinement and execution.
THE SOLUTION
RESEARCH: We did extensive research to understand the AOKI ethos, customer base and trajectory. We surveyed his managers, crunched budgets and conducted a process assessment.
REFINE: We positioned him in the market, refined the price and distribution channels and came up with a sales strategy. We delivered clear, concise messaging communicating Aoki’s story and experience with fashion through product, shows, and activations.
REIMAGINE: Steve became a major player in the streetwear community, bringing his collection to a number of high end stores including Saks Fifth Avenue, Luisa Via Roma, and Opening Ceremony (LEGITIMACY).
